We’ve selected the best strollers that we think are great for snowy terrains and included the pros and cons of each.

If you’re looking for a stroller that’s safe for your baby and could handle snowy roads, let’s jump right in.

BOB Rambler Jogging Stroller

BOB Rambler Jogging Stroller

If you’re looking for a sturdy yet relatively lightweight stroller to hit the road in winter, then the BOB Rambler stroller may be the one for you. The stroller weighs 25 lbs. and has a sturdy steel frame.

The Bob Rambler stroller features three 12-inch air-filled tires that make it possible to use this stroller on any terrain.

The mountain suspension, polymer wheels, and enclosed bearings mean that this stroller won’t get stuck in snow or dirt.

The swivel front wheel of the stroller can be locked, making it easier to use in snow. The one-step foot brake makes stopping and locking the stroller in place quick and easy.

The BOB Rambler is easy to fold in two steps using both hands, however, it doesn’t self stand.

As for the seat, it reclines to an almost flat level, so this stroller is suitable for newborns and up to 75 lbs. The leg rest, however, is stationary. The seat comes with an adjustable 5-point harness.

To protect your little one from weather conditions and the sun, this stroller comes with a large canopy with a small peek-a-boo vinyl window that you can choose to open or shut using velcro.

It also comes with a medium-sized under-seat storage that would fit a large diaper bag.

Things to Consider When Buying a Stroller for Winter

So, if you’re wondering what features you should be looking for in a stroller for winter, here are a few things to consider.

Wheel System and Tires

Wheel System and Tires

The last thing you want when you’re out in the snow is to push a stroller with small plastic wheels.

Smaller wheels are difficult to maneuver on rough terrains. The larger the wheels, the easier it’ll be for you to maneuver the stroller.

As a general rule, choose a stroller with a minimum wheel size of 9 inches.

It’s ideal to opt for a 3-wheel stroller with rubber air-filled tires. Air-filled tires make the ride much smoother for you and your baby.

You also want to make sure that the front wheel swivel can be locked. This makes it a lot more convenient when pushing the stroller on snowy pavements. It also prevents it from being stuck in the snow.

Stroller Suspension

When pushing a stroller on any terrain that isn’t smooth like snow, mud, or sand, suspension becomes key.

Look for a stroller with an excellent suspension system that absorbs shock. Good suspension is essential to keep your child as comfortable as possible.

Strollers with bad suspension systems would make the ride very bumpy for the child and more difficult for you to push.

Convenience Features

There are also a few extra features that would make a stroller more winter-friendly.

For instance, imagine your little one with a puffy winter coat. She’ll probably need more room to fit more comfortably in the stroller.

That’s one reason to choose a stroller with a spacious seat.

Another feature to consider is a large canopy. In winter, you’ll want to make sure your baby is protected from the cold weather, snow, and wind. In that case, the larger the canopy, the better.

A large canopy is also beneficial on hot summer days.

Winter Strollers Convenience Features

The Final Verdict

Making memories with your precious little ones on winter days doesn’t have to be a hassle. With a high quality, safe stroller, you’ll enjoy many days outside in the snow.

After reviewing our favorite picks, we think that the BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 Jogging Stroller earns its place on the top of our list.

This stroller is easy and smooth to push around and features a smart suspension system to keep you and your child comfortable.

It comes with a handful of convenient features like the large canopy, adjustable handlebar, large storage basket, and pockets.

If this stroller is out of your price range, then the Joovy Zoom 360 Ultralight Jogging Stroller would be an excellent alternative. The rear wheels suspension is great, it’s compact, and it comes with a tire pump and parent console.
